TFMC
Website Launched
Tobacco Free
Marion County
announces the creation of its new website and invites all Marion
County residents to visit www.tobaccofreemc.com for information
about tobacco prevention locally and at large.
In addition, tobaccofreemc.com has links and tools to quit smoking or
even help someone else overcome a nicotine addiction. Jerry Strobel,
President of TFMC notes, “Our mission has always been to be a resource for neighbors
to avoid tobacco in their lives. This will make it easier for us to assist and
maybe even reach a younger community.”
TFMC program coordinator, Julie Andersen shares that the
year’s work plan was written, over a year ago, to challenge internet tobacco
sales to youth. In the meantime legislative pressure from states’ Attorneys General
to restrict delivery of tobacco products influenced major parcel carriers to
stop delivering tobacco. “What we’ve
added is a guide to internet safety for parents to recognize many hazards
online in a rapidly changing environment,” says Andersen.
Tobaccofreemc.com
is a comprehensive investigation of the science, ethics, and politics of
challenging the tobacco cartel. University
of Washington Webmaster Heather Lehman
says of tobaccofreemc.com, ”Your content is great, easy, clear - i.e. accessible! ‘Which is more than 90% of
all other websites!”
The www.tobaccofreemc.com
site is designed and maintained by Handsel Art and Advertising.
