Julio Mereiros tests his carbon monoxide levels at Ranger Boats’
Employee Health Fair in Flippin December 5th
and 6th. Tobacco Free Marion
County offered the test to smokers and non-smokers alike. In addition TFMC offered tobacco users the
opportunity to participate in the UAMS College of Public Health SOSworks tobacco cessation program. SOSworks connects
quitters with trained interventionists who evaluate a persons’ nicotine
dependency and help plan individual quit plans for quitting and staying tobacco
free. The program is free to all
Arkansas residents simply by calling 1-866-NOW QUIT.
TFMC
volunteer J.R. Few notes, “Ranger really sets the
curve in their concern for a healthy workforce.”
Other activities
available to employees included information from the Hospice of the Ozarks, discounted
membership with the Area Evac Lifeteam,
glaucoma testing from the Sneed Eye Clinic, flu and tetanus shots from BCLP, and
bone density scans from Health Dynamic Physicals. In addition, the American Red Cross conducted
a community blood drive in the parking lot.
