TFMC Receives Excellent Review
Arkansas Division of Health’s Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Program Grants Administrator Pat Brown (on left) discusses Tobacco-Free Marion County’s 2006-’07 performance with TFMC Program Coordinator Julie Andersen during an annual site review at the Marion County Health Unit recently. Statewide TPCP grantees undergo an annual evaluation of their fiscal and programmatic accountability. This was TFMC’s 5th successful review. TFMC was featured in the 2006 report published by the Division of Health as a coalition success story. The report noted that, “TFMC acts as a catalyst for public health improvement,” and “...has been instrumental in disseminating the information about the risks of secondhand smoke exposure, the benefits of clean indoor air, and the importance of people taking responsibility for educating others about the dangers of active and passive smoking.”
